Ch...ch...ch...CHANGES!

KITCHEN CLOSET
Mr. Biggs knows that the one thing that he can count on is that I will change the location of many things around the house to a place where I think it will function better.  He mostly gets upset when I move the coffeepot.  Just to make sure no member of this house was exempt from this great feeling, I decided to move the cats food dish and litter box. Normally the bowl lived in the kitchen dining area, and we stored the food right next to the bowl in the kitchen closet.

Our dog Sadie would always eat the cat food after we went to bed so the dish would always be empty.  Our cats were always hungry, the dog was always throwing up cat food, and the kids were always grumpy that they were always filling up the cat food and cleaning up dog barf.  We tried just putting the food out in the morning and evening, but the bottom line is that it just didn't work out for us or the cats.  Somebody would always forget to put the food out, or put it away.  So there were either hungry cats or an over-full dog.  The other day I was surfing the internet and I came across this cool contraption.  A litter-box disguised as plant.

WOW. I could move the cat box out of the hall cubby and into the available corner at the end of the hall!  Then I could convert the hall cubby into a place where I could put the cat food and the dog would not be able to eat it.  I know that cats are notorious for not liking change especially when it comes to their food and litter-box.  I crossed my fingers and made the move.

So far it's working great.  Here is a shot of Fat-E lounging in the hall by the new 'plant".

Fat-E

I put the cat tree and food in the cubby.

The dish is in the corner and the cats are able to eat but Sadie is not.  It is working out great.

The only hiccup in the plan is that Fat-E still thinks there is food stored in the kitchen closet.  He can be found trying to shrink down and slide under the door to get to the food...that is no longer there!

Determined Cat!
